Legendary DJ Bob Harris was a great friend of Marc Bolan from their first meeting at John Peel’s home in 1967. Bob often featured T.Rex on his Sounds of the 70s Radio 1 programme and was compere on the T.Rex UK “Electric Warriors” tour. At Liverpool Stadium, 11 November 1971, the vibrations on the stage (which was usually used as a boxing ring) reportedly caused Marc’s speaker stack to fall onto Bob’s DJ equipment, destroying it. Bob was in the wings for the 18 March 1972 Wembley Empire Pool concerts and recalls fondly those heady days as T.Rextasy swept the nation.
